Alcatraz Island หรืออีกชื่อหนึ่งว่า ‘The Rock’ เป็นเกาะเล็กๆที่ตั้งอยู่ 2.4 กิโลเมตรจากฝั่งซานฟรานซิสโก เคยใช้เป็นที่คุมขังนักโทษในปี ค.ศ. 1868-1963 แต่ปัจจุบันเปิดเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวให้คนเข้าชม ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวของซานฟรานซิสโกที่ดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวมากที่สุดอีกแห่งหนึ่ง
The Painted Ladies เป็นคำจำกัดความของลักษณะบ้านแบบ Victorian และ Edwardian ที่มีการตกแต่งสีสันหลายๆสีในซานฟรานซิสโก ซึ่งปัจจุบันนี้เหลืออยู่แค่เพียง 48,000 หลังเท่านั้น
